About this part
Genuine MAN coolant expansion tank. On a marine installation the tank is usually mounted above the highest point of the engine's coolant circuit, because that is where air collects and where it can be vented. A tank relocated during a repower or a refit will trap air somewhere in the system, and the symptom — intermittent overheating that clears after bleeding — is easily blamed on the thermostat or the pump.
