Genuine MAN eccentric for the water pump drive on the D2848 LE422. An eccentric converts rotation into a reciprocating or offset motion, and in a pump drive it is the component that establishes the geometry the pump works against. Wear here changes that geometry rather than stopping it — which means the pump continues to run while delivering less than it should, and the symptom is reduced flow rather than an obvious failure. Because reduced flow on a cooling circuit shows only under sustained load, this is a component worth inspecting when a cooling complaint has survived the replacement of more obvious candidates. Where a cooling complaint has survived a new impeller and a cleaned heat exchanger, the drive geometry is the candidate nobody checks.
