Genuine MAN fuel prefilter with hand primer for the D2840 LE301 and D2842 LE443. The hand primer is what allows the fuel system to be filled and bled after a filter change without cranking the engine — which matters because cranking to prime is hard on the starter and the batteries, and on a boat those are the components you least want to exhaust while alongside. A primer that has become ineffective usually has a failed internal valve rather than a worn diaphragm.
