Where a sealant listing has been superseded, the replacement is usually a current-generation product with equivalent or better properties rather than a different chemistry — but it is worth confirming the cure mechanism has not changed, since an anaerobic and a silicone product are applied and left to cure quite differently even where both seal the same joint.
