Genuine MAN rivetted flange from the 98112 standard-parts group. Attempting to tighten a loose rivetted joint by pulling the flange bolts harder does nothing useful, since the rivets and the bolts carry loads in different directions. Rivets carry the flange against the pipe; the bolts clamp the flange against its mating face.
