Genuine MAN coolant pump seal for the D2848 LE422. The seal in a coolant pump separates circulating coolant from the bearing that carries the shaft, and it is the component whose failure the pump's weep hole exists to announce. A pump dripping coolant from that hole has a seal on its way out and a bearing still intact — which is a repair — while one that has been left is a bearing failure, which is usually a pump. The seal is cheap and the window is long, provided anyone looks.
