Genuine MAN raw water pump for the D2840 and D2842. A pump that has seized rather than worn out deserves investigation before the replacement goes on. Seizure in a raw water pump is usually the end of a sequence — a failed bearing, a seal that let water in long before that, or an impeller that disintegrated and jammed — and each of those points at a different cause. Where the shaft turned hard before it stopped, the bearing is the likely origin; where it stopped abruptly, look for debris. On a belt-driven installation, check the belt and the other pulleys it drives, since a seizure under load can damage more than the pump itself. Where debris is found, trace where it came from before refitting, since whatever produced it is still in the circuit.
