On an in-line six the fuel pipework is simpler and more accessible than on a V engine, which changes the economics of preventive replacement: where reaching a line on a V12 is most of the job, on a six it frequently is not. That makes renewing pipework of unknown age a reasonable thing to do during other work on this engine, rather than the substantial undertaking it becomes on the larger blocks.
