Genuine MAN high-pressure injection line for cylinder 4 of the D2866 LE401. After lines have been fitted, the high-pressure side needs bleeding before the engine will fire properly: cracking the unions at the injector end and cranking until fuel appears is the usual procedure. Slacken, crank, retighten — one line at a time, with the fuel caught and not sprayed, and the specified torque applied afterwards. Catch the fuel in a rag or a container; spraying it around a hot engine bay is how a bleeding job becomes an incident.
