About this part
Genuine MAN reducing nipple with no dimensions stated. Where a nipple has to be removed, grip it on its flats and not on the thread: the exposed thread on a double-male fitting is easy to crush, and a crushed thread will not go back into its port. A soft-jawed vice is the right way to hold one while the second end is made up.
