Genuine MAN exhaust valve for the D2866 LE401, supplied where 51.04101-0447 was fitted. With any valve going into a head of unknown history, check valve recession once it is assembled — how far the valve head sits below the face of the head — because that measurement decides whether there is service life left. A seat recut several times over the years eventually sinks the valve too deep to work properly, and no quantity of new valves recovers a head that has reached that point.
