At M16 x 1.5 and 42 mm, this is a genuine MAN banjo bolt in a free-cutting steel grade. The cross-drillings have to register with the annular groove inside the eye, and that alignment is designed in rather than adjustable. A bolt from a different position may seal and still deliver nothing.
