Genuine MAN valve cotter for the D2840 LE301. Cotters are small, cheap and dropped easily, and they are the one component in the valvetrain where losing a single piece stops the job entirely. Ordering a few spares alongside a head overhaul costs almost nothing against the delay of waiting for one part. Never mix cotters from different valves either: the pair on a stem beds together, and halves swapped between stems do not share load evenly.
