About this part
Genuine MAN exhaust valve seat ring, 53.11 mm, for the D2866 LE401, D2840 LE301 and D2866 E. The figure is the ring's outside diameter, which has to match the recess machined in the cylinder head; the sealing face itself is cut afterwards. Seat rings are an interference fit, normally assembled with the head warmed and the ring chilled so that it drops into place instead of being driven. A ring hammered home distorts, and a distorted seat will not seal however carefully the valve is ground onto it.
