Genuine MAN instruction plate carrying the valve clearance data for the D2842 LE443 and D2848 LE422, 65 x 35 mm and printed in German and English. It is not a mechanical part, and it matters for exactly one reason: the clearance figures for an engine are needed at the engine, by whoever has the rocker cover off, often years after the manual went missing. A plate that has become unreadable is cheap to replace and awkward to work without.
