Genuine MAN bearing cap parts kit for the D2866 LE401, D2866 E, D2842 LE443 and D2848 LE422. The bearing cap closes the end of the machine and carries the shaft bearing, which makes it one of the few structural parts in an alternator rebuild. Bearings in an engine-mounted machine fail from vibration and belt tension as much as from hours, so an over-tightened belt at the last service is a plausible cause when one is found rough.
