Genuine MAN starter switch for the D2848 LE422, 168 grams. The starting switch is the one control that has to work when the vessel has been left for months, and it lives in an atmosphere that attacks contacts. Where a switch has become unreliable, replacing it is preferable to working around it — the workaround becomes the normal procedure, and normal procedures get used in emergencies. Keep a spare aboard on a vessel that is laid up for part of the year, since that is when switches fail.
