Genuine MAN drive gear for the D2866 LE401 and D2866 E, now supplied as 51.05201-0105. Its part group places it in the lubrication system, where the gear drives the oil pump from the engine's gear train. A gear-driven oil pump has one useful property over a chain or belt drive: it cannot slip, so oil pressure problems on these engines point at the pump, the relief valve or the clearances it feeds, and almost never at the drive.
