About this part

Genuine MAN outer valve spring for the D2866 LE401, D2840 LE301 and D2866 E. Each valve here runs a nested pair of springs with different rates and natural frequencies, so that no single resonance can line up with valve operation anywhere in the engine's speed range. A single spring would risk valve float — the valve failing to close fully — at some speed. The pair is deliberate vibration control, so replacing only the outer spring defeats the point of the design.

Supplied new, in the manufacturer’s packaging, with our warranty of up to 24 months.
